How to get to the Museu Nacional (National Museum)

BACK

The Museu Nacional is part of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro). It houses the most important Egyptian collection of Latin America – not only due to its size, but also due to the uniqueness of some of its objects.

It is possible to conduct Egyptological research at the Museu Nacional through the Graduate Program in Archaeology. SEMNA is organized by MA and PhD students of this department, supervised by Prof. Dr. Antonio Brancaglion Jr., coordinator of the Egyptological Laboratory and curator of the Museu Nacional’s Egyptian collection.
