Gisela Chapot is Doctor in Social History from the Universidade Federal Fluminense. Her specialization is ancient history and Egyptology. Her dissertation, entitled “A Família Real Amarniana e a Construção de Uma Nova Visão de Mundo Durante o Reinado de Akhenaton (1353-1335 a.C.)” (The Royal Family of Amarna and the Development of a New Worldview During Akhenaten’s Reign) focused on the visual material produced during the Amarna Period. She also holds an MA with an emphasis on Egyptology from the same institution. Her interests lie in Egyptian iconography, temple tradition, and funerary customs, particularly in the New Kingdom.
