Márcia is an adjunct professor IV at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, History Department, CCHLA – Centro de Ciências Humanas, Letras e Artes.
Academic background at the Universidade de São Paulo: BA in History (1993), MA (2000) and PhD (2006) in Archaeology. Experience in: classical archaeology, Egyptology, and ancient history, with a focus on the material culture and religion of Roman Egypt. Areas of focus: funerary space and the imaginary landscape of death in the ancient world; imperialism, power, and identities in the Roman Empire and its provinces; sacred spaces in Antiquity – landscapes, myths, and rituals.
